Curriculum

Yoko Uwate received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Tokushima University, Tokushima Japan, in 2003, 2005 and 2006, respectively.

From April 2008 to March 2010, she was working as Post Doctoral Fellow for Research Abroad of Japan Society for the Promotion Science (JSPS) at STOOP Group, Institute of Neuroinformatics (INI), University and ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

In 2010, she joined the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Tokushima University, Tokushima Japan, where she is currently working as an associate professor at Nonlinear Circuits Laboratory, Tokushima University, Japan.

From August 2016, she is working again for half a year as Visiting Scientist at at STOOP Group, Institute of Neuroinformatics (INI), University and ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

Dr. Uwate is a member of the IEEE CAS Society Board of Governors (2013 to 2015, and 2021 to present). She was the Chair of the IEEE CAS Society Technical Committee on Neural Systems and Applications (NSA) (2019 to 2021). Now, she is the DEI (Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion ) Committee Chair of the IEEE CAS Society (since May 2022).

She was an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers (2012 to 2013) and IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs (2017 to 2019). She has been an Associate Editor of the IEEE CAS Society Newsletter since 2012.
